Frequently Asked Questions

What can I do to prepare for my session?

Great images are made when people feel confident and comfortable. Wear an outfit that makes you feel your best, make sure you (and the kiddos!) have had a snack, and feel ready to show off for the camera. It’s also important to our timeline that you arrive on time for your shoot so we have the full session to capture great moments.

Can I bring a friend to support me?

Absolutely! Feel free to bring someone along to help encourage you and hype you up during our session.

How and when will I receive my images?

Your images will be ready within 4 weeks from our session. Images are delivered through an online gallery. You’ll receive the gallery link as soon as your pictures are ready! Gallery links expire after a few days, so please download your images as soon as possible.

How long do you save my images?

I clean out my client files regularly and cannot guarantee that I will be able to provide copies if you lose your files or missed your download window. It is your responsibility to download and backup your images. If I have your images and you would like them re-uploaded, a republishing fee will be charged.

How long does a session normally last?

I always try to work as efficiently as possible, especially during family shoots. Most full-length sessions (excluding seniors) take around 45 minutes, but I schedule sessions for up to an hour to allow plenty of time if the session runs longer.

Why do I have to pay a booking fee?

Paying a booking fee reserves your chosen time and date for your session. If you cancel your session at the last minute, I likely won’t be able to book another client in your spot. If you need to reschedule or cancel your session date, you may do so up to 14 days before your shoot. Your booking fee will go toward the new date (for reschedules) or refunded (if canceled). If you reschedule or cancel within the 14 days before your shoot, your booking fee will not be refunded and you will need to pay an additional fee if you want to secure a new date.

What if there is bad weather?

In the event of unforeseen weather, a personal emergency, or if I am sick, your deposit will go toward a new date. If you simply no-show for your session, your deposit will not be refunded or applied to a new date.

When do I pay the remainder of my session?

The remainder of your session is due one week before your shoot. I will not begin editing your images until your session has been paid in full. For larger sessions and events, your session may be cancelled if payment is not received on time.

What if I’m not satisfied with my images?

Before you book your session, please look at my portfolio and familiarize yourself with my work. I work to be as clear as possible with the expectations of my work and the style of images you’ll be receiving from your session. I only promise to deliver my photography services; if I have done that, a refund will not be issued. Refunds will only be given in the event that images are lost, stolen, or damaged. Refunds will not be given based on styling, editing, or other aesthetic reasons. I have many resources available for clients including session tips and style guides to ensure your session runs as smoothly and beautifully as possible.

Do you share my images online?

Yes, unless otherwise specified by the client. In the initial session contract, I will discuss with you your choice about having your images shared online. This must be discussed before our shoot and will not apply to images that I already have on my website or shared on social media.

Can I have the raw or unedited files?

No. I am offering a full-service photography session that not only includes taking the images, but selecting the best images, editing, and delivering them. Raw images are not a true representation of my work and are not available for clients. Raw files will also not be saved or archived.

I’ve seen that you photograph a lot of jiu-jitsu events, can I book you for that?

Absolutely! I am especially passionate about women’s jiu-jitsu and the events that I primarily photograph are women’s BJJ events, seminars, and camps. Feel free to contact me for a quote.
